Cupcakes Found in Mammoth Lakes

My home away from home is Mammoth Lakes, CA. My husband grew up skiing and snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain and even lived there for a few years. We are current Mammoth Mountain season-pass holders so we spend a lot of time up there during the winter.

This past weekend I was surprised to spot cupcakes around town. First, my friend Jill pointed out these cupcakes at Schat's Bakery. Although I was somewhat interested in trying one, it was only breakfast time so I passed.


Later that day my friend Jeff bought one of these cupcakes for lunch at the Mammoth Mountain Lodge. Last year I tried a red velvet cupcake from the lodge. Unfortunately it wasn't too great and neither were these. Cheap, whipped frosting topped these cupcakes. No thanks.

Although cupcakes are becoming more prominent in Mammoth Lakes, I have yet to find a quality one.
