Food Truck Mania has hit Orange County hard. I've been a big fan since I first tried Kogi BBQ almost a year ago. As more and more trucks pop up, more Orange County residents are starting to notice.
At the end of August (the 28th), there is a huge event called OC Foodie Fest, which is a gathering of 50 gourmet food trucks at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Tickets are $12 and will give you access to all of the food trucks. You still have to pay for food, but there will be mini-portions available for $1-$5 so you can try as many trucks as you'd like. Sounds like it will be an awesome event!
The list of participating food trucks is available here. The only thing that bugs me is that a lot of the food trucks are LA-based and haven't crossed over into Orange County yet. So if I find a truck I really like, I would have to travel to LA to eat again. But hopefully their participation means they are planning on coming to Orange County in the future.
Last Saturday night was a mini preview of the Foodie Fest at Pub n Grub in Santa Ana. Six food trucks met up in the parking lot behind Proof bar. Girls night out!
Dinner and dessert in one place...I love the idea! I hadn't tried any of these food trucks yet, so there were lots of options.
Settled on Dos Chinos for dinner and I wasn't disappointed! Got the Hollywood Chicken and Dos Chinos Breakfast tacos. The Hollywood Chicken was my favorite and I'm craving it still. Looks like I'll be chasing this truck around Orange County.
The main reason I wanted to attend Pub n Grub is Morsels Baking Company. They are a new dessert truck that recently hit the streets and they serve CUPCAKES! Check out my full review on them tomorrow.
