Here it is: my last review from New York City. This place was completely amazing! Let me tell you right now that you've never eaten any desserts like these before.
I didn't know much about Momofuku Milk Bar except that my husband's co-workers had raved about this place. We stumbled upon it in the middle of a summer rainstorm. I was only going to try one thing, but my husband pretty much ordered one of everything. And I'm certainly glad he did. This is what we got:
Grasshopper Pie ($5.25/slice): a chocolate and mint pie
Crack Pie ($5.25/slice): contains butter, heavy cream, brown sugar, sugar, and corn flour (found a recipe for it here)
Birthday Cake Truffles ($4 for 3): vanille confetti cake covered dipped in icing
Cornflake-Chocolate Chip-Marshmallow Cookie ($1.85): just as it sounds
Blueberry & Cream Cookie ($1.85): contains blueberries and white chocolate chips
Compost Cookie ($1.85): contains pretzels, potato chips, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, coffee grounds, graham
Cereal Milk ($5): contains milk with cornflakes, brown sugar, and salt
I can't say one bad thing about anything we tasted! That's pretty amazing! I did enjoy the Crack Pie more than the Grasshopper Pie. I heard someone describe the Crack Pie as pecan pie without the pecans. It was seriously addicting, hence the name. Also, I loved the two cookies with salty ingredients in them. That combination of sweet and salty is just so satisfying. And last, the cereal milk. I know it sounds weird, but it was delicious!! I'm tempted to make my own at home. The prices of each item were a little higher than you'd normally pay for a small dessert (such as a cupcake), but because of their uniqueness I would say it's worth it.
If you're visiting New York City, you absolutely MUST stop by one of the Momofuku Milk Bar locations. You'll definitely thank me.
